A Local's Guide to Spring Festivals Around North Atlanta

Can you smell that in the air? Spring festival season in Atlanta, and it might be my favorite stretch of the year to get out and experience everything this area has to offer. From art shows and food festivals to neighborhood celebrations and family-friendly events, there's something happening almost every weekend from April through June.
After years of living and working in and around North Atlanta, I've come to know these towns not just as neighborhoods on a map, but as places with real character, personality, and history, and festival season is when that character really shines through. It's one thing to read about a town's walkability or school district on a listing sheet, and another thing entirely to stand in the middle of its downtown on a Saturday morning surrounded by neighbors, live music, and the smell of food trucks.
To help you plan your spring calendar, I've rounded up some of the most popular festivals across the metro area, complete with dates and locations. Whether you're exploring a new neighborhood or revisiting an old favorite, these events are a great way to soak up the energy of an Atlanta spring — and honestly, walking a festival is still one of my favorite ways to get a feel for a place before a client decides it's the right fit for their next home. Georgia Craft Brewers Guild Festival: April 11 // Downtown Woodstock. A one-day celebration of Georgia craft beer, with 50 breweries pouring 150+ unique beers alongside food vendors, live entertainment, and a local makers' market.

Decatur Art Festival: May 2–4 // Downtown Decatur
Roswell Spring Arts & Crafts Festival: May 2–3 // Roswell City Hall Grounds. This free, juried festival has become a springtime hallmark for the city, featuring around 100 painters, photographers, sculptors, and jewelers, plus live music and food trucks.
Johns Creek International Festival: May 2 // Field Across Atlanta Athletic Club
Chastain Park Arts Festival: May 9–10 // Chastain Park
Dunwoody Art Festival: May 9–10 // Dunwoody Village

Woodstock Juneteenth Festival: June 20 // Woodstock Arts Event Green. A family-friendly celebration of freedom, culture, and community hosted with the Cherokee County NAACP, featuring live music, local vendors, food trucks, and art.
