North Atlanta Guide to Easter Egg Hunts

Easter is one of my favorite times of year in our community. There’s something about baskets, bunnies, and a good old-fashioned egg hunt that brings families and neighbors together.

Watching families grow up across North Atlanta, I still love seeing our local cities, churches, and shopping centers turn springtime into something special. From neighborhood gatherings to bigger community celebrations, there are plenty of ways to get outside and make some Easter memories.

Here are a few of my favorite Easter egg hunts and family-friendly events happening around North Atlanta this season.

Alpharetta

Hoppin' into Halcyon at Halcyon:

Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Tickets are $20 per child and must be purchased in advance. Adults do not need tickets. Expect egg hunts, a petting zoo, crafts, balloons, face painting, and more.

Hop-A-Long Easter Egg Hunt at Avalon:

Saturday, April 4, with hunts at 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Kids collect five eggs and trade them in for a bag of treats. Free, with no registration required.

Atlanta

Natural Egg Dyeing at the Atlanta Botanical Garden:

Saturday, March 28, and Friday, April 3, 10 a.m.–noon. Kids can learn how plants are used to naturally dye eggs. $6 per child, plus Garden admission ($5 for member children).

Spring Fest at the Atlanta History Center:

Sunday, March 22, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Enjoy egg hunts, photos with the Easter Bunny, crafts, garden activities, and historic demonstrations.

Brookhaven & Chamblee

Easter Egg Hunt at Chamblee First United Methodist:

Saturday, March 28, beginning at 10 a.m. Bring your baskets for an egg hunt on the great lawn, with chicken biscuits, juice, music, and crafts.

Easter Festival at Village Park in Chamblee:

Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m. Hosted by the Chamblee Police Department.

Dunwoody

Easter Bash at Dunwoody United Methodist Church:

Sunday, March 29, 2:30–4:30 p.m. Family activities include an egg hunt, petting zoo, games, and treats.

Eggstravaganza at First Baptist Church:

Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. A free, family-friendly Easter celebration.

Easter Egg Hunt at Dunwoody Baptist Church:

Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. This is their fourth annual Easter egg hunt.

Johns Creek

Easter Bunny Hop at Creekside Park:

Friday, April 3, 4–8 p.m. Hop around the upper pond at The Boardwalk at Town Center, collect goodies, and take a picture with the Easter Bunny.

Milton

Milton Community Egg Hunt:

Saturday, March 21, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., at Cambridge High School. There’s also a sensory-friendly hour from 10–11 a.m. This free event includes egg hunts for all ages, games, face painting, live music, and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Cumming

Hop into Easter at Cumming City Center:

Sunday, March 22, starting at 3 p.m. at 423 Canton Road. Enjoy egg hunts and family-friendly festivities in the heart of Cumming.

Peachtree Corners & Norcross

Easter Egg Hunt & Eggs-tra Special Needs Egg Hunt at Rossie Brundage Park: Saturday, April 4, with the regular hunt at 10 a.m. and the special needs hunt at 1 p.m. This free event is filled with hidden treasures and surprises.

Bunny Hop at The Forum:

Saturday, April 4, 9 a.m.–noon. Enjoy pictures with the Easter Bunny and egg hunts for the little ones.

A quick tip before you go

Popular events like Halcyon can fill up quickly, so check the details and register early when registration is required. And, of course, event times and availability can change, so it’s always a good idea to confirm details before heading out.
