Halloween is here in North Atlanta!

Pumpkins are gracing porches, costumes are getting more imaginative, and kids are already plotting their candy-filled adventures. (And let’s be real, some grown-ups are just as excited!)

One of the best things about living in North Atlanta is that there are tons of ways to celebrate the season. Whether your family wants a chill afternoon of trick-or-treating or you’re ready to scream your way through a haunted house, there’s something spooky happening nearby.

Halloween celebrations are already in full swing across North Atlanta.
Halloween celebrations are already in full swing across North Atlanta.

Here are some Halloween favorites to add to your calendar!

Start Close to Home in Johns Creek

Why travel far when there’s Halloween fun right in our own backyard?

The Johns Creek Police Department’s annual Trunk-or-Treat is happening on October 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johns Creek City Hall. Get ready for creatively decorated vehicles, candy, food trucks, and lots of costumed neighbors.

It’s a fantastic way for families to enjoy Halloween together in a community setting. The kids get their treats, parents get to catch up with neighbors, and everyone gets a chance to show off those costumes before the big night.

And if you’re still looking for another local outing, keep an eye on community calendars in Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton, and Cumming. Parks, libraries, churches, and neighborhood organizations often host their own Halloween celebrations, so there might be a fun event just around the corner.

Enjoy Trick-or-Treating at Avalon

If your little ones are all about candy but you’re not quite ready to let them roam the neighborhood after dark, Trick or Treating at Avalon is a fantastic choice!

On October 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, Avalon in Alpharetta is hosting a fun morning of trick-or-treating at participating spots along The Boulevard.

It’s a great chance to dress up, enjoy the festive vibe, and let the kids fill their treat bags. Plus, while you’re there, you can grab a coffee, have a bite to eat, or check out some shops.

Here’s a tip: Bring a sturdy candy bag. Those little buckets fill up quickly!

Take a Spooky Walk in Roswell

Feeling ready for a Halloween experience with a bit more atmosphere? The Halloween Hikes at Chattahoochee Nature Center are back on October 23–25 in Roswell.

Families can explore a half-mile trail where woodland characters and themed stops bring Halloween to life. There’s also a longer Haunted Quest for older participants who are up for an extra challenge.

It’s a lovely way to enjoy the outdoors with a touch of spooky magic. Just a heads-up, this is a ticketed event, so it’s a good idea to book in advance.

And don’t forget a light jacket! October evenings in North Georgia can get chilly once the sun sets.

Bring on the Big Scares at Netherworld

Of course, Halloween wouldn’t be complete without at least one haunted house—and if you’re looking for serious scares, NETHERWORLD Haunted House in Stone Mountain is a long-time favorite.

Get ready for NETHERWORLD’s 30th season in 2026, where we’re introducing two brand-new haunted attractions: Curse of the Collector and Beyond Oblivion: Legacy of Evil! Get ready for amazing sets, creepy characters, special effects, and plenty of reasons to hold onto your friend’s arm.

This one’s perfect for older teens and adults who love a good scare, but maybe not for little ones who still need the hallway light on.

Tickets are specific to dates and times, so be sure to check availability before you go. And if you’re the one who says you’re not scared, we’ll let you prove it!

Make a Day of It at Stone Mountain

Want a Halloween that’s a bit less scary? Stone Mountain Park’s Pumpkin Festival is a great family-friendly option, with glowing pumpkin displays, seasonal entertainment, and fun for all ages on select dates through November 1.

It’s a fantastic choice if you’re looking for something memorable that doesn’t involve monsters jumping out of dark hallways. Enjoy the daytime activities, stick around for the evening festivities, and make it a full fall outing.

Just be sure to check the park’s calendar for current hours, admission, and special activities before you go.

Make This Halloween a Neighborhood Tradition

Sometimes, the best Halloween memories happen right at home. A neighborhood costume parade, a driveway decorated with pumpkins, or a few families gathering for a front-yard candy stop can turn an ordinary October evening into a tradition everyone looks forward to each year.

That’s one of the things I love about North Atlanta. From Johns Creek and Alpharetta to Roswell and Milton, our communities offer so many opportunities to get outside, meet our neighbors, and make memories together.

So pick your costumes, stock up on candy, and plan a little spooky-season adventure.

And if Halloween has you thinking about finding a home in a neighborhood where you can put down roots and make traditions of your own, North Atlanta Home Group is here to help.

Because there’s nothing quite like being home for Halloween!
