Fourth of July North Atlanta Fun

After 30 years of helping families find their place around North Atlanta, we’ve discovered that one of the best ways to get to know a community is to experience the traditions that bring everyone together. And few traditions do that better than the Fourth of July.

This year is especially meaningful as communities across Metro Atlanta celebrate America’s birthday alongside the parades, concerts, festivals, and fireworks that have become part of our own local traditions.

Whether you’re looking for a hometown parade, a family-friendly festival, live music, fireworks, or just a good excuse to get out and enjoy your community, there’s something happening practically every direction you turn.

Here are some of the celebrations to put on your radar.

July 3 | The Boardwalk at Town Center

Johns Creek kicks off the holiday weekend with an evening of live music, family activities, food, and patriotic fun. The celebration runs from 6–10 p.m., with fireworks following the evening festivities. It’s a great choice if you want a Friday-night celebration without waiting until the Fourth itself.

Duluth — Star-Spangled Laser Show

July 3 | Downtown Duluth

Duluth offers a unique twist on the usual fireworks with its Star-Spangled Laser Show. Get ready for delicious food, lively music, fun family activities, and a dazzling laser display on the Town Green.

Alpharetta — Fourth of July at Wills Park

July 4 | Wills Park

Alpharetta is celebrating America’s birthday with patriotic entertainment and a fireworks show at Wills Park. Fireworks are set to go off around 9:15 p.m., and families are invited to bring blankets, picnics, and games. If you’re hoping for a classic North Fulton Fourth of July, this is definitely worth checking out!

Roswell — Fourth of July at Roswell Area Park

Roswell kicks off the festivities in the evening with live music, entertainment, and food trucks before the fireworks. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and relax for the evening.

Woodstock — July 4th Spectacular

July 4 | Downtown Woodstock

Woodstock really knows how to make the Fourth of July an all-day community event.

The day kicks off with a Freedom Run at 7 a.m., followed by the parade at 10 a.m. The festival at The Park at City Center runs from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. and features food, vendors, kids’ activities, live music, and the always-fun foam party. Then, come back for fireworks around 9:30 p.m. If you’re looking for a full day of Fourth of July tradition, Woodstock is hard to beat.

Dunwoody — 50th Annual Fourth of July Parade

July 4 | Dunwoody Village

This year, Dunwoody is celebrating its 51th annual Fourth of July Parade, which is one of the area’s most cherished traditions!

The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. and will take you on a 2.7-mile journey through Dunwoody Village, featuring floats, marching bands, vintage cars, performers, and lots of local cheer. It’s a wonderful reminder of what makes a community special.

Marietta — 4th in the Park

July 4 | Marietta Square

Marietta’s 4th in the Park is another beloved all-day event, starting at 10 a.m. with the Let Freedom Ring Parade. The fun continues throughout the day with arts and crafts, food, a kids’ zone, and free concerts, culminating in an evening concert and fireworks after dark. It’s a perfect way to make the most of a Fourth of July.

Chamblee — Chamblee Rocks Summer Concert

July 4 | Downtown Chamblee

If you’re looking for something a bit different, Chamblee has a free concert.

The concert starts at 6:30 p.m., with fireworks following around 9:15 p.m. Bring a blanket, plan your parking, and get ready for an evening of music and fireworks.

Decatur — Pied Piper Parade, Concert & Fireworks

July 4 | Downtown Decatur

Decatur’s Fourth of July has that classic small-town charm right in the heart of metro Atlanta.

The Pied Piper Parade begins at 4 p.m., followed by live music on the Square and fireworks around 9 p.m.

And guess what? You can actually join the parade! Whether you’re walking, biking, pulling a wagon, or even creating your own float, there’s a way to participate. Bring your chairs, blankets, and your favorite red, white, and blue.

Sandy Springs — Stars & Stripes Celebration

July 4 | City Springs District

Sandy Springs kicks off the celebration at 4 p.m. with food trucks, live music, and a free concert before fireworks around 9:30 p.m.

Lilburn — Sparkle in the Park

July 4 | Lilburn City Park

Lilburn’s Sparkle in the Park is a great family-friendly evening with live music, food vendors, a kids’ zone, face painters, and more.

The celebration is from 6–10 p.m. at Lilburn City Park.

Cumming — Fourth of July Celebration

July 4 | Cumming Fairgrounds

Head north to the Cumming Fairgrounds for a fun family evening from 4–10 p.m.

It’s a great choice for families in Forsyth County and the nearby North Atlanta areas who want to stay close to home.

Here are a few more things you might want to know:

There are lots of other celebrations happening all over metro Atlanta, including events in Norcross, Tucker, Avondale Estates, Stone Mountain, Sandy Springs, Snellville, and Acworth.

Stone Mountain Park is also extending its celebration over several days, with its Fantastic Fourth running from July 1–6, and it’s combining its evening show with fireworks.

The great thing about living around Atlanta is that you don’t have to travel far to find a community celebrating.

One of the things we love most about living here is that you can still have those small-town moments—like waving to neighbors at a parade, spreading a blanket on the lawn, watching kids run around with sparklers, and seeing the sky light up over your own community.
