Not sure what to get Mom for Mother’s Day this year? Sometimes the best gifts aren’t “things,” but time spent together. Best of all, Atlanta has plenty to offer when it comes to Mother’s Day events and experiences. From outdoor festivals to home and garden tours, here are just a few ideas to help you gift your mom a fun-filled Mother’s Day weekend.


Zoo Atlanta: Moms receive free admission to the Zoo on Mother’s Day with the purchase of one full-price, same-day adult or child ticket. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the front gate on May 10. If you’re a member, show your Zoo Atlanta membership card upon arrival to get Mom in for free!


Mother’s Day in the Garden: Celebrate Mom with a bloom-filled day of live music and cocktails at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Taking place on May 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., this is a beautiful way to spend the day together.


Niki in the Garden: The Atlanta Botanical Garden’s newest exhibit, Niki in the Garden, opens on May 9 and runs through early September. Featuring the colorful sculptures of Niki de Saint Phalle, this exhibit marks their return to the Garden 20 years after their debut and is believed to be one of the largest showings of her outdoor work in North America.


Mother’s Day Pop-Up: Save the date for Saturday, May 9, from 12:00–5:00 p.m. and celebrate Mother’s Day with a stroll through charming downtown Norcross. Local businesses will offer special deals, sweet treats, giveaways, and heartfelt surprises. It’s a simple, meaningful way to slow down, make memories, and show Mom just how loved she is.


Mother’s Day Market & Brunch: Sunday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Halcyon in Alpharetta. Enjoy local artisans from Makers + Markets ATL, live music, a Mother’s Day photo backdrop by Meg’s Party Co., The Sprinklenista pop-up, and adoptable pups from Furkids.


Makers Market Local Artist Fair at Avalon: Sunday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shop handmade jewelry, pottery, fragrances, candles, bath and body products, crochet, apparel, leather goods, and more from 25+ local artists at this kid- and pet-friendly outdoor event.


College Football Hall of Fame: The Hall welcomes moms this Mother’s Day with free admission and complimentary items. The first 50 moms will receive garden flowers from The Home Depot and can enjoy a complimentary mimosa during their visit from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Atlanta United: If your mom prefers soccer, Atlanta United will face LA the night before Mother’s Day at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.


Chattahoochee Nature Center: Visit the Nature Center on Mother’s Day and moms get in free! Bring a picnic, enjoy CNC programs, walk the Wildlife Walk, and explore the River Boardwalk Trail.


Southeastern Designer Showhouse and Gardens: Take your mom on a spectacular tour of this year’s Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Showhouse in Buckhead. The showcase began in April, and the final day of tours is Mother’s Day, May 10.

Art and Music Festivals: If your mom would love to spend the day outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather, the Sweet Auburn Festival, Dunwoody Art Festival, and Chastain Park Arts Festival are all taking place Mother’s Day weekend.
