Sweet Spots: Favorite Bakeries Around North Atlanta
There are some mornings when a cup of coffee just isn't enough. You need a buttery croissant, a warm pastry, a slice of cake—or maybe a little something sweet that you absolutely did not plan to buy but somehow ends up coming home with you.
Luckily, living in North Atlanta means we have no shortage of wonderful bakeries. And one of my favorite things about our area is the variety. You can find classic French pastries, European-style breads, Asian-inspired treats, beautiful celebration cakes and cozy neighborhood cafés all within an easy drive.

So whether you're picking up a birthday cake, meeting a friend for coffee or simply looking for a Saturday morning treat, here are a few local favorites worth putting on your list.
Henri's Bakery & Café
A true Atlanta institution, Henri's has been serving up baked goods and sandwiches for generations. With multiple locations around Metro Atlanta, it's an easy choice when you need everything from a beautiful celebration cake to a box of pastries for the office.
And don't overlook the savory side of the menu. Their deli sandwiches make Henri's a great stop when one person wants a pastry and another person wants lunch—which, in my experience, is a pretty common situation!
Paris Baguette
If you like having lots of choices, Paris Baguette is dangerous in the best possible way. This French-inspired bakery café offers everything from croissants and cakes to sandwiches, coffee and beautifully decorated pastries.
With several North Atlanta-area locations, it's convenient for a quick breakfast, coffee date or last-minute dessert pickup. My advice? Give yourself a few extra minutes to look around before deciding. There are always more choices than you think you're going to have!
Sweet Hut Bakery & Café
Looking for something a little different? Sweet Hut brings together Asian and Western baking traditions in a way that makes the menu especially fun to explore.
You'll find favorites such as egg tarts, buns, pastries and cakes alongside bubble tea and other café drinks. It's a great choice when you're meeting friends who want to try something beyond the usual croissant-and-coffee combination.
White Windmill Bakery & Café
White Windmill is another North Atlanta-area favorite for traditional breads, pastries, cakes and café treats. It's the kind of place where you can stop in for a morning coffee and leave with something you definitely didn't need—but are very happy to have.
It's also a good option when you're looking for a dessert or baked treat to bring to a gathering without spending your entire weekend in the kitchen.
Collette French Bakery
For those days when only a French pastry will do, put Collette French Bakery on your list. You'll find classic favorites including croissants, macarons, éclairs, breads and other beautifully made French-inspired treats.
There's something special about slowing down for a coffee and pastry instead of rushing through breakfast. Grab a friend, find a table and pretend you're spending the morning in Paris—even if you do have errands waiting for you afterward!
Giulia Bakery – Peachtree Corners
Giulia brings an Italian-inspired approach to the bakery scene in Peachtree Corners. The open-concept space lets you see some of the baking action, and the menu goes well beyond traditional sweets.
You'll find cakes, pastries, sandwiches and even pizza, making this a fun stop whether you're craving something sweet or looking for a light lunch. It's also a nice neighborhood option when you want to support a newer local business.
A Few More to Put on Your Radar
One of the best things about Metro Atlanta's bakery scene is that you don't have to stop with the names above. Depending on where you live, keep an eye out for neighborhood cafés and independent pastry shops in Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Peachtree Corners and Duluth.
And don't forget about farmers markets! Local markets are often a great place to discover smaller homegrown bakeries and specialty bakers who don't have a traditional storefront.
If you're searching for something specific—a custom birthday cake, sourdough bread, gluten-free treats or a beautiful dessert for a dinner party—it's always worth calling ahead. Smaller bakeries may have limited quantities or require advance notice for special orders.
The Best Part? You Don't Have to Go Far
One of the things I love about living in North Atlanta is how many little food destinations are tucked into our neighborhoods. You don't have to drive downtown to find something special.
So grab a friend, bring the kids, plan a Saturday morning coffee date or simply reward yourself after a long week.
And if you discover a bakery I haven't mentioned, send it my way! I'm always happy to add another local favorite to my list.
