Are you planning to host a summer BBQ or outdoor gathering this year?

Whether it’s a Memorial Day celebration, birthday party, or casual get-together, these simple tips can help make your event a hit!

Keep it Cool

Atlanta’s summer heat can be intense, so help your guests stay comfortable. Use patio umbrellas, shade canopies, and misting or oscillating fans to create escapes from the sun. And don’t forget to stock up on plenty of ice and cold drinks!

Keep it Bug-Free

Mosquitoes can ruin a good time fast. Consider having your yard professionally sprayed, or, if you prefer a pesticide-free approach, use natural citronella candles and provide bug repellent for guests.

Serve Simple Foods

Heavy or complicated dishes can be tricky at a backyard party. Stick to easy-to-eat options like burgers, hot dogs, and finger foods. A self-serve drink station can also free you up to enjoy the party with your guests.

Add Fun & Games

Outdoor games bring energy and fun to your gathering. Cornhole, bocce, volleyball, and badminton are easy to set up and play. If kids will be attending, offer simple outdoor toys like bubbles, balls, sidewalk chalk, and a sprinkler or kiddie pool.

Have a Backup Plan

Weather can be unpredictable, so always plan for rain. If your indoor space isn’t large enough, consider reserving a nearby venue or setting a rain date in advance.
