No plans for summer? No worries! We’ve compiled a list of fun events and attractions taking place around the city this summer. And since WalletHub just ranked Atlanta #7 on its list of the best staycation cities in the nation, there’s never been a better time to take advantage of all our city has to offer.
Just remember: Atlanta is hosting multiple World Cup matches this summer. Be sure to mark these dates on your calendar and avoid planning your getaway around them: June 18, June 21, June 24, June 27, July 1, July 7, and July 15.
Zoo Atlanta: Zoo Atlanta offers a wide array of attractions, featuring more than 1,000 animals representing a wide range of habitats.
If you plan to visit several of Atlanta’s top attractions during your getaway, consider purchasing an Atlanta CityPASS. For just over $100 ($86 for children), you’ll receive admission to your choice of five attractions: Zoo Atlanta, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Fernbank Museum, the College Football Hall of Fame, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
Atlanta Botanical Garden: The Atlanta Botanical Garden is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the major Niki in the Garden sculpture exhibition.
SkyView Atlanta: Towering nearly 20 stories above Centennial Olympic Park, the SkyView Ferris wheel provides gorgeous panoramic views of Metro Atlanta.
Six Flags Over Georgia: Six Flags Over Georgia is home to more than 45 rides, ranging from family-friendly attractions like Rockin' Tug to adrenaline-pumping roller coasters such as Dare Devil Dive and The Great American Scream Machine. The park offers a little something for everyone, including thrill rides, live shows, and the popular Hurricane Harbor Atlanta water attraction.
Six Flags White Water: Home to more than 20 water rides, Six Flags White Water offers everything from the family-friendly Caribbean Cove to thrilling slides like Dive Bomber and Python Plunge.
Atlanta Braves: The Atlanta Braves are in the thick of a highly competitive 2026 season, contending near the top of the NL East. This summer features an action-packed schedule of home games at Truist Park, including holiday matchups, special promotions, and exciting divisional rivalries.
High Museum of Art: Summer 2026 at the High Museum of Art in Midtown Atlanta is highlighted by the highly anticipated Amy Sherald: American Sublime exhibition, as well as Isamu Noguchi: "I Am Not a Designer." Combined with recurring events such as Friday Jazz, HIGH Frequency Fridays, and UPS Second Sundays, the High is a great destination for a summer weekend outing.
Blueberry Picking: Georgia is home to some fantastic U-Pick blueberry farms where you can spend the day gathering fresh berries, enjoying the outdoors, and making memories with family and friends.
